How to Watch MLB Baseball in 2026 Without Cable: The Complete Streaming Guide
If you turned on your TV to watch baseball and got hit with a confusing mess of apps, subscriptions, and missing channels, you're not alone. Maybe your regional sports network disappeared. Maybe your cable bill jumped up again. Or maybe you're simply done paying $150 a month just to watch one team play 162 games.
This guide breaks down every single way to watch Major League Baseball in 2026 without a cable TV subscription — from free options to premium packages, and from your smartphone and tablet to your smart television. And if you need hands-on help setting any of this up on Florida's Treasure Coast, Space Coast, or South Florida, A Faster PC is here to help.
Why Did My Baseball Channel Disappear? The Regional Sports Network Collapse Explained
Before diving into where to watch, you need to understand why the viewing landscape changed so dramatically going into 2026.
If you were relying on FanDuel Sports Network to watch your local team, here's what happened. Main Street Sports Group — the company that operated the FanDuel Sports Network regional channels — announced it would be winding down operations in April 2026 after losing the rights to nine Major League Baseball teams due to missed payments.
This is the end of a very long saga. The company was previously known as Diamond Sports Group, marketed as Bally Sports. Going into 2023, 14 MLB teams had RSN deals with the company, but trouble emerged early that year when the company missed payments and filed for bankruptcy in March 2023. The company eventually emerged from bankruptcy in November 2024 and rebranded — but the rebranding didn't save them. On January 8th, 2026, all nine remaining MLB teams terminated their contracts with FanDuel Sports Network due to missed payments.
The underlying cause: shifting audience viewing habits. Cord cutting has slashed distribution levels by as much as 40% in some markets, making the old regional sports network business model unsustainable.
The nine affected teams — the Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals, Miami Marlins, Tampa Bay Rays, Cincinnati Reds, Kansas City Royals, Detroit Tigers, Los Angeles Angels, and Atlanta Braves — have all moved their media rights to MLB's in-house production arm or launched independent networks.
Major League Baseball will produce broadcasts for 15 of the 30 MLB teams this year under what the league is calling MLB Local Media, and 21 teams will have a local in-market streaming option available. In general, teams' streaming options range from about $100 to $120 per season. The Atlanta Braves launched their own service called Braves Vision, and the Los Angeles Angels announced they would acquire FanDuel Sports Network West outright, also streaming games through the MLB media platform.
The bottom line: the old model of turning on your cable box and finding your team on a regional sports channel is gone. You need to know where your team is broadcasting in 2026.
Where to Watch MLB Nationally in 2026: Every Broadcaster Explained![]()
The good news is there are more places to watch baseball nationally than ever before. The not-so-good news is those places are spread across more platforms than ever before. Here is where national games will air in 2026:
Fox and FS1 will continue to be the home of the World Series, League Championship Series, Division Series, All-Star games, select regional games, and the World Baseball Classic. World Series Saturday games on Fox are free if you have an antenna or a live TV streaming service.
TBS will continue as the home of the League Championship Series, Division Series, and Tuesday night regular season Major League Baseball games.
ESPN will exclusively broadcast 30 games this season, beginning with a Jackie Robinson Day game, a doubleheader, a Memorial Day afternoon game, and weeknight games between June and August. Some of these games will also simulcast on ABC.
NBC and Peacock — in the biggest broadcast news of the year, NBC Universal has secured a package of rights that includes Sunday Night Baseball, Sunday Leadoff, and all four Wild Card series of the postseason. NBC is back on baseball for the first time in over 25 years. Sunday Night Baseball on NBC is free with a digital antenna, but the Wild Card Round and Sunday morning games require a Peacock subscription.
Apple TV+ will continue streaming Friday Night Baseball doubleheaders throughout the regular season. A subscription runs $12.99 a month.
Netflix will air live events and games in 2026, including Opening Night, the T-Mobile Home Run Derby, and MLB at Field of Dreams. Netflix exclusively streamed Opening Night on March 25th — Yankees versus Dodgers — and if you're a subscriber, it's available in your app now.
To watch every single national MLB game in 2026, fans may need to access Peacock, Netflix, Apple TV+, a cable or cable TV alternative for Fox, TBS, and ESPN, and possibly MLB TV for out-of-market games — at a combined cost that can exceed $100 per month. But there are ways to reduce that cost significantly, and we cover them all below.
Free Ways to Watch MLB Baseball in 2026
Everyone loves free baseball. Here are the legitimate, no-cost ways to catch games in 2026.
The MLB App — Free Game of the Day. The MLB app offers a free game of the day, with different teams featured every day. Some days more than one game is available at no cost. If a game has already aired, you can watch it after the fact and fast forward or rewind at will.
The Roku Channel. If you have a Roku device, Roku TV, computer, smartphone, or tablet, the Roku Channel is a free, ad-supported streaming service that includes live and on-demand sports content, including MLB games throughout the season. You can also access it at roku.com without a Roku device.
Tubi and Pluto TV. Both are completely free, ad-supported platforms available on Roku, Firestick, Apple TV, Google TV, and in your web browser. Both carry MLB content where you can watch free games.
YouTube. MLB's official YouTube channel posts highlights, classic games, and press conferences throughout the season. Subscribing to the MLB YouTube channel gets you access to a significant volume of free content, including game replays and live events that MLB makes available at no cost.
Over-the-Air Antenna. Local games airing on Fox, NBC, and ABC can be watched for free with a simple TV antenna — no subscription required. If your local Fox affiliate is carrying a Saturday game, that is free TV. The same applies to NBC Sunday Night Baseball and ABC games. A one-time antenna purchase can save you a meaningful amount every single month.
How to Get a $150 MLB TV Subscription for Free — T-Mobile Offer
Here is one of the most valuable deals available right now that many people do not know about.
T-Mobile is offering a free, season-long MLB TV subscription — a $149.99 value — to qualifying customers through the T-Life app. The redemption window opened March 24th at 5 a.m. Eastern and closes March 31st at 4:59 a.m., so act immediately.
The free MLB.tv subscription allows T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile customers to stream out-of-market Major League Baseball games live or on demand at no additional cost. Subscribers also get access to baseball documentaries, classic programming, World Series films, news highlights, and archived games.
Important caveat: the subscription is subject to standard blackout restrictions. If you reside within a team's designated home territory, you cannot watch those games on the MLB.tv app live unless the stadium is sold out.
If you are on T-Mobile or Metro by T-Mobile, open the T-Life app right now. This deal expires March 31st, 2026. Do not leave $150 on the table.
